Blog feedback and learner response

WWW: You’ve made an absolutely brilliant start to A Level Media on the coursework side – well done! Your blog is fully up to date and your reflection on the mise-en-scene recreation is exactly what I want to see in an LR task – so detailed and thoughtful both in terms of your technical work and also the importance of mise-en-scene. Keep up the good work!

EBI: Your mise-en-scene analytical task offers a good level of detail which is so important at A Level. Your film poster work is weaker in this area so just make sure you are writing in depth and detail for analysis tasks moving forward. Finally, it is also important to focus on written English so think about how you organise your writing (sentences, spelling/grammar, paragraphs etc.)

Reflect on your first month of Film & TV Language.

What aspect of Film & TV language have you most enjoyed studying?
I think the most I've enjoyed for Film and TV Language so far has been the recreation scene that we had to create as it involved working in groups and having to learn the lines of what the actors in the movie said which was so fun.

What is your strongest piece of work so far?
I think the strongest piece of work so far that I have completed is my mise-en-scene blog tasks as I've spent the most time on them and found them more easier and more comfortable to do.

 What is your weakest?
I think my weakest piece of work so far has been my film poster analysis as I didn't write much in certain areas of the different posters which I gotta work on and enhance on to do better as I need to be able to create connotation more better on posters and write more about them in more detail.

What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop before we start coursework at the end of Year 12?
Editing 100%. Because last year for GCSE media, I didn't use the editing software Adobe. I used CapCut which was a different more simple editing software for me to use. But this year, I want to try to do better as this is A-Level and want to try getting better at my editing skills by using Adobe and hopefully throughout the practical task I do in media I will be able to improve and do better at editing and make my editing skills more better.
