Preliminary exercise learner response
1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.
Teachers feedback
Good preliminary exercise – 42 seconds and some really nice shots in there.
Camerawork is a strength – some nice framing and camera movement. Perhaps a little more movement could work since it’s a music video? Or perhaps slightly pacier editing in places? Generally the pace is good though.
Location and weather (too sunny!) perhaps hold this back a little? I wonder if effects could help with this. Did you try slow motion or black and white?
You definitely need another scene / location / performance element for the full video.
Needed brand identity of your artist in there – that was part of the brief for the preliminary exercise.

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your work.
WWW
1. What I feel went well was the use of my camera shots.
2. My editing was good as well especially with the shadow boxing scene.
3. The acting of Obaida he did really well.
EBI
1. Even better if the lighting was a bit cloudy or dimmed so it suited the genre of my music video.
2. If there was a clear narrative from the start of my video.
3. I had a range of more locations and shots so it didn't look like I was focusing on the same thing.
3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?
I feel like I did complete some elements of my statement of intent such as my filming and the shots I have used but I need to go back and improve on it and change a lot as I have changed my song from 'Unstoppable' by Sia to 'Hall Of Fame' by The Script.
4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?
That I need to really think long and hard to what I want to achieve through my music video and need to make sure my idea and plan is thought out fully and is ready to go into plan. Furthermore I need to make sure I have everything such as my actors and the locations all ready to go into immediate effect.
5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything about your actual coursework video plan? This could include your concept, cast/actors or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork or editing.

I will change my statement of intent such as the song I will be using and I will need to come up with a new story board as well and print out the lyrics to 'The Hall Of Fame' and annotate the lyrics so it gives me a better visual of where I need to go and what I need to do so I can get those top marks and show my examiner that I know this song perfectly inside and out due to how well my music video and narrative will be hopefully.
