1) Find a distinctive still image and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson. The use of the high key lighting around Tom Cruise in this image connotes that the room he is in is all high tech and futuristic cause of how brightly lit the room is. Furthermore, the use of him wearing all black connotes that he's doing something sneaky and stealthy as the colour black usually shows mystery or death. The use of the wide shot also shows the whole background and the body placement that Tom Cruise is in which shows him balancing his weight from off the floor with a rope holding him up from the floor which could connote in this image an intense moment in time. The purpose of a music video is to sell products, the most obvious of which is the song featured in the video.
